Jim started shoeing horses in 1979. He became an AFA Certified Farrier in 1985, and advanced to a Certified Journeyman Farrier 5 years later. He furthered his education through Dr. Doug Butler's Master Farrier Program, from which he graduated in 1995. He has shod horses in Puerto Rico, Italy, Spain, and Germany, in addition to the Northeastern and Southeastern United States.
Jim joined our practice in 2007 in a joint collaberation between he and Dr. Hank. Jim and Hank formed the Equine Podiatry service that has become such a succesful portion of the practice over the last several years. Together they work on the many foot and limb lamenesses seen at the hospital.
A native of Texarkana, Texas, Tracy has been apprenticing under Jim since 2005. He provides an energetic novel approach to the most troublesome cases.
Beyond farriery, Tracy enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his wife Heather.
